Actually these are not new. I started them last late winter then had to stop because of all this disasters I had to deal with. I am cleaning up old projects then starting on more new ones. The shirt is pretty much all year and the dress is for Spring. But it is good to get them both done. The dress needs a bodice shell - what you see is the lining. I am thinking black and I an bedazzle it or something. I have some of the skirt fabric left but not enough for the whole bodice.
Every day I will sew or ride or workout (or a combo) for 1 hour in 2018. I will post proof here.

all done except for the buttons
I am still going to wear it tomorrow then go to Pacific Fabric at lunch for buttons. I decided not to top stitch the edges. It so huge I think it would not add anything. The glove are plain black ones I got a 3 pack of at Goodwill. I just sewed some extra fleece on the cuff to give it a "look"
No riding today. 90 minutes non stop on the trainer yesterday was tough. I am going to lift some weights later and call it a day dedicated to sewing and watching football.

Saturday report
Hand tacked interfacing, sewed sleeves and made hat. I also rode my trainer for 90 minutes. I deserve a prize. Or a contract as a supermodel.
Friday update
I love this coat so much I was tempted to close it up and wear it but I did not. I spent my 30 minutes turning it back inside out and hand tacking the pellon to the front. I originally sewed the facing on but it looked crappy and distracting. So I hand tacked it. I did not sew again or ride because I went to the Thunderbirds game. (Technically I sewed at work but I know that does not count. I worked on the technical design of some cute bags.)

Lining to shell, more cutting and work out
Sewing the lining to the shell was not so bad. And it is super cut on. I also cut more on the black coat. I looked for lining for that and the purple version when I ran an errand to the fabric store for work to look for zippers - no luck. I will check my stash.
I also rode my trainer for 45 minutes. There was nothing on TV to watch while I was doing it so I was stuck with watching Baylor smack down UCLA and part of the Simpsons. But I did it.

New jacket started
I did not feel like wrestling with my reversible coat this morning to sew the lining to the shell. I pinned it though. Instead, I cut out this jacket. While I was doing it I remembered I need lining so I will stop by the fabric store (again) on the way home tomorrow.

Jacket progress
Today I sewed in the morning and at night. I also lifted at home (the gym closed early). Since this jacket is reversible, sewing the lining was just like sewing the shell - but for the interfacing. I am little worried how puffy it may be when done but . . . if I cared about looking crazy I would not sew a coat (with matching hat and gloves) out of fake fur fleece.

Sleeves and collar on
This is the outer layer of this reversible jacket and the one that will show the most. I am not sure what I am going to do about the visible facing stitching. I definitely have to take it out and stitch in white or hand tack it. I am dying to finish it so I can wear it.
Getting Started
Finally I am finding time to sew for myself and for fun. This is a reversible fleece jacket. The other side will be black fleece. I will make a hat and gloves to go with it.
