god bless Sue Bird and Kareem Abdul Jabar

Both passes after brave and 2 week battels with what I think was old age. They each shared about 1 year of their lives with us.  Kareem was always a quiet fish. Sometime kept to himself. Sue Bird was a very active fish. She sometime got chased by Chris "body still never found" Hansen and she sometimes chased with him.

RIP LITTLE BUDDIES

day trip to Snoqualmie Falls

We went up there today. I have not been in awhile. We walked all the way to the bottom. It was cool but it was quite the hike up.  Then we drove around and as Brian was pulling over to make a turn I saw a herd of elk!  Brian got out out and took some shots and so did I. There were about 20 - 30 total.

this is from yesterday before my class started

I get there early and set up my little area then ride a trainer until everybody else gets there and the class starts. (Brian - you will be seeing this in person at some point!)

new dress in action

I found out today that our head pattern maker's daughter lives in San Francisco. She and her husband bought a house about 2 blocks from me a year ago and are moving in soon! I took this picture of me and Kitty in front of it for her.  Karen (the pattern maker) is hilarious.

done!

I re-did the center front overlap because I thought it was sloppy. Unfortunately it now closes left over right. But other than that, it turned out well

just need buttons

and I may get a new purple sweater at goodwill and I may also bedazzle the sweater and the collar on this.  This was all fabric on the remnant table.

I will definitely finish this by Wednesday.  Collar basted on. Sleeves assembled and pinned in place. I will sew the them and the skirt on tomorrow.

making progress

I got the fronts sewn to the back and teh pocket on.  I am going to splice the sleeves. I did not have enough of one fabric for long enough sleeves.

new dress

I had to sew something for myself after swatch-a-thon and all of the other projects. This is that same baby doll dress pattern I make all the time. Perfect for when I buy fabric and and am not sure what I will make. This is all fabric from the flat fold table at Pacifc Fabrics I thought was cute.

This is why I was not posting

Swatch, swatch, swatch. Over 500! Then  had to take them to the factory and have the operator put eyelets in them.  And there was no extras so we could not make one mistake. And I also had to handcut the pellon for backing.  But I got to keep all the thread ($250 worth). But finally I can sew other stuff now.

what I won for being a winner in the commuter challenge

I got the cooler and 2 thermoses. The first place guys got the seat. I would have won if I had not gone on vacation.

I thought this was kind of artistic with the fuscia hanging down.
