I just cut this out and want to finish it to wear to work on Friday. I saw the fabric in the store last week and bought some with no idea of what I was going to make.

I am making view B.  It is all I have enough fabric for.

christmas dress done and worn

I ended up getting side tracked making pillows for Brian's parents so I super rushed to get it done. I may take the bodice off and re-sew it. But since I will wear it once a year for the next few years, should I really bother. Anyway, it is cute and comfortable.

I saw cute Christmas fabric on the flat fold table at Pacific Fabrics to I bought some. I just cut it in half, matched the pattern, put in casing for elastic, hemmed it and voila! A Christmas skirt. I also put some more trim from mom's friends stash on the hem. I am into that "fancy trim foot" I got after my last classes at Tammy's. Very easy to use. I wore it to work yesterday. Very cute.

I got a bunch of stuff from the trim stash from Mom's friend. I used one of my specialty feet to put them on. It made it really easy.

I got three Chinese Algae Eaters. $1.99 each. So far they are getting along with each other and the other fish.

It was an exclusive event for members of the UW Alumni Association. Very fun. And interesting. I got some ideas of fun stuff to make and I want to read more on Yves. We had dinner and drinks afterwards. Very downtown.

Evan gave this vintage lace and an old fur coat to me last night. I have not decided what I will do with them yet.

new toy

A little dog who lives here loves pom pom's and ate them from 3 of my husky hats. I could not find them to buy so I thought of all the tool clover has. I checked and they have a pom pom maker. It is awesome. It takes about 5 minutes to make one. Super easy. Here is the tool and some of the ones I made today. I am going to sew them on tonight and hide them from Ranger.

aquarium update

Long story short, the light that was fixed in the lid to my aquarium broke and apparently they don't make that size aquarium anymore. So, I would have had to buy a whole new aquarium.  I got some advice and realized that I do not need a lid on the aquarium and could just put the light on it. But, the light was barely covering the opening. It was super easy for it to fall into the tank. I did that once but thankfully, no damage.
So we figured out if we added a "ledge" the light could sit on it and be safe. Here it is.
These are my new fish. I completely cleaned the whole tank first.
