several things

I did the same ride today as yesterday. Here is an ariel view.

I cut out a new top but I need to get fabric for an underlayer. It is lace with sparkles.  I now have to decide something else to start.

Here is before and after of the front yard.  Left is before, right is after.

bamboo removal - complete

Thanks to spear bar borrowed from dad, hard work by Brian and a small (yet well intentioned) pry from me.

Done

I love this but let me tell you, it was tough to figure out the pattern etc.  I screwed up everything at least once. For example:
1. I had to resew at least 6 faux flat fell seams.
2. I took the waistband off 3x
3. I just put the buttonholes on the wrong side of the shirt.

But, it came out great. And I love it. I will definitely make more from the books and they will come out better. At least as far as I know. I don't think anybody will notice the mistakes.

Saturday report

29 miles and 1700 calories burned. I can deal with that.

I finished the pants. Super cute. Mary you can try them on to see if the they fit then I will make them for you. Picture coming.  I am going to put buttons on the shirt now and that will be done. Then I will start something new.

I love sewing!

lots of yard work today

Brian did most of it but I did some.  The hardest was taking out the bamboo in the front.  It is still not 100% done but we will get there.  And neither of us fell off the wall to our deaths.  Our garden is doing really well. We got another squash today.

Much better.

Another view. You can actually see the rooftop garden now.
I got this sign from Harrel's HQ today. I hope he wins

July 4

I had to undo something from the linen pants again.  But they will be worth it in the long run. I should finish tomorrow.  Then I will put the buttons on the top and start a new project.

I did a quick out and back tonight. Here is a map.

harem pants started

With all of the errands yesterday I would have been pushing too much to finish them last night. So hopefully I will get a ton tonight and can finish tomorrow morning.

It should be easier after having done one pattern from this book for the shirt. All I have left on that is hem and buttons.  I have never done so much self binding on anything.
