I ran!

OK, 10 minutes super slow on the treadmill but I did it. I am going to run outside this weekend. Nothing dramatic though.  I think I can get back into it pretty fast because I have stayed sort of fit.

This is a new skirt I am working on. Fake purple shiny animal skin and gold sparkly fabric.  And yes, I will wear this in public.

Tonight I also worked on the $600 coat and the other project I am doing.  And tomorrow, the rats will die.

Backyard report

Brian did lots of work in the yard.

 Now for the rat trails. The repellant did not work. Today I saw 4 come out at once from under the fence. They also wanted to try humane methods. No dice.  I lost sympathy for them.

I had a fitting today and she loves it. Now I need to sew the lining (I just basted it), do the hems etc. I am going to have it pressed before I close it up. The wool is so heavy I need to get professional pressing to press the seams open.

We re-started sitting on the porch again today and I saw this (Brian took the photo). It is birds buidling a nest in the tree in front of the house.  Right now they are digging a hole the tree to put it in. It is fun to watch. I know when the leaves come we won't be able to see them.

We named them Fred and Ethel.

I am still alive

Today I wore a regular shoe for the first time since my fall.  I have been riding my trainer. I stayed seated for a week because I could not stand. Last night I was able to get out of the saddle. I am going to try to ride some flat miles this weekend.

I have so many side projects. Ambit Outerwear (tech dcsign), two clients I cannot name because I signed NDA's.  One is about to go into production so I can tell as soon as it does. The other is just getting started. 4 garments for $1200 - tech packs. No patterns or sewing!  And then my little projects  - the sweatshirt dress thing and poor, neglected Motovista.

Maybe I can finally get moving on that.

And of course, the $600 coat. I want to finish it to do a final fitting this weekend. I started sewing the lining tonight. I am concerned because the one on her jacket was super beat up and hard to copy. I put a big pleat in the back and I created a back neck facing.

I was able to sew while I was home

I got the collar on the $600 dress. Next I will serge the lining together. I wanted to get some more time with it before I used in on something crucial. I watched a video tonight and used it on the green drell below. I love it!

All I have left on this is to hem the sleeves and put buttons on. I started it ages ago but it got pushed behind christmas sewing and some other paid stuff.  I am going to finish all these projects now and the paid stuff. I vow
