Expo report

4 patterns and some sparkly stuff. 30 minutes of actual sewing at home. Tomorrow is a day of full of classes. I also picked up my sharpened scissors. $17 for 6 sets.

More organization and a ride

At 3 pm, in the rain, I got on my bike and rode a little less than 2 hours. Then on the way home I stopped at the gym.  Still no sewing but lots of organization. I did get my scissors sharpened. The sharpening guy comes to Pacific Fabric several times a year.  It is $2 for each pair.Not bad and he does a good job.

Day 2 of vacation

Focus organization.  I felt guilty sewing when I had all of the stuff I have procrastinated organizing staring at me. So today I went for it. I am still not 100% done but at least I can sew, guilt free tomorrow. And I have no out of house errands to do.  Home and sewing all day.

the bachelor is a punk, and a skank, and a dick

I hate him. I hate him.  How could he do that. He seems so insincere. I wish she would have smacked him.

Ok, I am back. First day of vacation and no sewing. I did over 50 miles on my bike last weekend and today was catching up on my life. I will be back to sewing tomorrow. I have not forsaken you.

But seriously, he is a dick.  How could they like/love him.

I am alive

I am keeping up with my pledge.  But I have sucked at posting.

Most of my sewing has been sewing for money -repairs.  And am also working on an idea for a bag to carry your smart phone in while riding. I want to tell you about this Mary.

I have been super good on working out. Saturday and today I did 30+ miles both days (which when I am fit is nothing - but not now!).  The last 90 minutes Saturday were in the pouring rain and today it was cold and I felt like it was headwind both ways. But Saturday it ate 1700 calories and today 1900. That is worth it.


Right now - Bachelor and replacing a zipper on a bike kit - for money.

valentine skirt

This is a one-time- wear thing. It is from a remnant on the reduced to clear table at Pacific Fabrics Outlet and a sweater I bought, then cut up, from St. Vincent de Paul years ago. And of course, a scrunchie from leftovers. I will finish it tonight or tomorrow am.

Last night I lifted at the gym. Tonight I will need to squeeze a trainer ride in in-between getting home from work and going to the Dawg game.  Come on Huskies. Get it together.

And my friend Mark was on TV last night.  He was worried how he would look because he had no shaved. I think he looked ok.

I am alive

I am making a valentine skirt out of that heart fabric I posted before. But it is too cut up to take a picture of. It will be done tonight and posted. Super simple as in tube skirt with elastic waist, but it will have sparkle fabric spliced on.  And I think I will have some sparkle arm warmers.

Spoiler alert - Bachelor. The bad girl got ejected. I was hoping it would have been at the Rose Ceremony and she would go postal but it was more private.  She seems psycho.

And I rode my trainer while I watched her get ejected.  Weights tonight.

sunday report

Saturday was riding - 35 miles and 1700 calories. Today is errand-o-rama so I will be relegated to trainer later tonight or double up tomorrow. I am waiting for labels from a client finish an order but so far, nothing. So I may have to fire up the machine for my own purposes.

These are some ones I sewed for an earlier order.

Wednesday

Another zero on sewing but I did work out. And it was more of an accomplishment because I had to go to the gym and lift. It is somehow easier to force myself to ride my trainer because I can do it all right here in my little studio.

Yesterday was the big end of Operation Elvis at work. Hendra looked great and actually, on his own, bought roses for everybody and gave them out to each operator. Here is the Elvis party at Filson to all the photos I have.

Also, I am going to Michael's Studio today. It is pretty close to Filson and I want to support him. I even pledged $35

Tuesday

Taxes and working out. And a total update from my mom on everything Mary had done so does she really need a blog when Mom does the duty.

Watched The Bachelor while I rode. The evil girl must go.

Monday night

Finally, I got to sew again. And I even went the gym first do to a short lifting session. The black sparkly fabric is not very stable. I think this will end up as an indoors jacket, versus a coat.  I will put these sparkly buttons on it, bedazzle the collar and make a tie belt.

A weekend breakthrough

Still new sewing but I did something I have not done in about a year - I rode with my team!  I got killed and fell back to the B (ok more like the C group) but I did it.  And the front page of the Seattle Times does not say "Former Decent Cyclist Attempts Comeback But Boy,She Is Slow"!

It actually was fun and I burned of 1400 calories (quickly put back in with Superbowl beer and snacks).

This week I will get lots of sewing in.

Update

Friday I was a failure. I did not sew or ride but I did deliver the hats to be fed x'd.  And intervened in two crying sewer incidents.  But still, a failure.

Today I did not sew but I did ride and went to the game where the Huskies won!!

Thursday Follow up

My "sewing" was all still commercial sewing - I finished off the hats and then at lunch shipped them.  Then the account # my client gave me to use did not work so I had to deal with that.

Huskies lost but Hec Ed was loud and on fire.  Man, so close!  It was fun to see such a good game and to have so much screaming Dawg fans.

This weekend I want to finish the black coat and start some other stuff. I am also going to undergo a thrashing by my doing my first team ride in forever!  I will be off the back like a rock but I have to get it going.
