Sunday - more riding

I went for one of my usual out and backs with Brian. Man, my legs were shot.  But I got out there.  Tomorrow, back to sewing and the gym and my trainer. Hopefully there will be no more big 2 week breaks and I can keep getting  back in good shape

Riding report

This was my ride today. Notice the blank spot where I accidentally turned my space watch off when I pulled my arm warmers off. I still feel like I suck but the only way to get over it is to keep riding. Now I will sew!

Back to bike commuting

Man, that was tough. I used to fly in and out the door and zoom into work no problem.  I as close to that once I got on my bike but getting my stuff packed was a little rough. And getting undressed from my bike stuff and into work stuff at Filson was tougher. However, I survived.  Getting home was different too.  The traffic and finding a way to get lights to see me and not piss traffic off will take some time. And getting up Jackson carrying a big bag - yikes. I cannot remember if I had to get into that low of a gear. But I did it and will do it again today.

The next thing on my dress is to put the invisible zipper in.  I started this morning but did not have time due to the slippery fabric.  But I did try the dress on and it still fits.

Note: I was shocked last night on Project Runway when Richard did not know how to put an invisible zipper in! How can you get on a show if you can't put an invisible zipper in.  Anyway, he got auffed. Thank goodness. My favorite is Patricia but I think Michelle will win and that is OK.

Richard. He is a dick and I am glad he is gone
Patricia. Love her. She cracks me up.
Michelle. From Portland. I can live without her hair and tattoos but she is good and I think she will win.

bodice on skirt

Man, this fabric is slippery.  Add that to the fact that the pattern is not great and I had to cut it kind of crazy to fit on the fabric.  It has been a challenge. But I was brave and tried it on and it fit!  I will finish it this weekend. Next project is finish the searsucker dress and make a cute/easy sparkly ruffle skirt

Today I am riding in to work. First time at Filson.  Hopefully it will work out.

back at it

And I was not totally out of it but I was down from sewing every day and 50+ mile rides to laying on the couch dying while watching Law and Order re-runs.

Each of the last two mornings I have taken the back of this dress apart. I think I finally have it right. I may go to Goodwill this weekend and get a purple (or light purple or white) sweater to bedazzle to go with it.

Last night we went to Hockey Playoffs. Mary you should come with us next year. They have two-fer Tuesdays.  You get beer, hotdogs, admission etc as two for and/or $2.  Super cheap. And the games are really fun. I sand Livin' on a Prayer at full volume at one point and I felt good about it.  I also demonstrated (in a quiet voice) my command of the lyrics to Oh Canada.  (our home and native land . . )

putting back together

This has a side zipper so I definitely need to make sure these straps are on right (and fit) before I sew them.

progress report

Here is how it looked last night before I stopped sewing.  I need to get a zipper today because that step will be coming up soon. I know I may have to alter it but hopefully I can make it fit be altering the darts and side seams.

There are bust and waist darts

Front. I love how shiny it is.

back at it

Now that I feel better, I am back at it.  I started cutting the purple dress. Tonight I am going to try to work out right when I get home.

Plans for polka dot fabric

Here is what I will make out of this fabric. It is nice jersey blend stuff I got from one of the many fabric deals I belong to.  I am keeping my promise and actually finishing stuff I have started before I start something new. I have two other things on dress forms that I started over  a year ago (they have been off and on the forms). I will make decisions on those this week - it may be that I have lost critical pieces and may need to kill them. But at least I will be dealing with it.

New project and update

I rode my trainer while watching the Bachelor. I totally think that girl is lying about being engaged.

This is a new dress - Spring is in the air. It is a small wale seersucker, purple (go Dawgs) and white.  I am going to decide what to make out of those jersey polka dot fabrics before I retire tonight. I am making the dress in the picture and the jacket.

Day 3 of fish ownership. All alive. Katherine, Isabella and Aziz (used to be named Brian but changed it to give good karma to Aziz N'Daie of Huskies after complaints by human Brian).

Black jacket done

I decided not to put buttons on it. I intend to wear it as a wrap coat. I may end up putting belt loops on it.  The fabric is sparkly but is not great quality.  Such is life. I may also put sparkles on it.

Huskies beat WSU. Go Dawgs (see good luck sweater I wore to game)

Friday at the expo

Some of the best classes I have been to. I will post links tomorrow. Warning - I am about to enter a ruffle phase.

The pattern is from a tank seminar I went to. I will also be making some super cute tanks and tank dresses. Mary, I bet you will love these.

Below are pictures and my homework from the online photoshop class I am taking. Tomorrow I am going to ride about 50 miles (unless the weather sucks).

I deserve a prize for this.
